This session will be canceled due to school's Chinese New Year celebration activity.  We will resume on Feb 25.

Feb 4 session cancelled

We have a new coach - Mr. Jack

We had this term's first practice session last Saturday. Our new coach Mr. Jack Cao is great. Jack had impressive credential, here are some examples.

* Starting playing volleyball at school team since Grade 7
* Starting playing at Predators since Grade 9
* Two times MVP at Bluevale
* Gold medallist of Ontario championship 2009-2010 season
* Silver medallist of Canada National West championship 2009-2010 season
* Excellence Award 2009-2010 season
* Silver medallist of Canada National East championship 2010-2011 season
* Top 4 of Ontario championship 2010-2011 season
* Certified National Life Guard

Hi parents,

Last Saturday we had our first practice session. We had 5 kids shown up. They all seemed have fun. Pleas provide feed back to me. This is the first time I ever coach kids. I need your feedback. The other 3 kids will no longer come. One more parent showed interest. Thanks Andy for helping me try to locate the net and remind me the time. There are two other parents offered to volunteer to help, much appreciated.

We will continue our practice this coming Saturday at 11:40am - 12:30pm, gym 3.

Some updates:
  • Gym availability: I have asked KWCS principle Naya to check the availability of the main gym for the rest of the school year.  Simon told me that next three Saturday the main gym will be used by other organizations. For coming Saturday November 6th, we will share the gym 3 with folk dance group. Last Saturday, we shared the main gym with lion dance group.
  • Web site: I have created our web site: http://volleyball.kwcschool.com. You can use this site to provide constructive feedback comment now. Please let me know if you want to edit this site, I will give your permission.
  • Net: I have requested via Naya to use WCI's volleyball net and posts. I am waiting for the response.
  • Hiring coach: I have sent an unsolicited email to four potential coach candidates to seek their interests about being our coach.
  • Fee: With uncertainty of the gym availability, I will postpone this fee topic until I get more clarity.

家长们好,

首先道歉因出差和周末加班,我上周六无法到中文学校.我也没事先通知大家.

现在和大家说说这个排球班筹办的情况.

我已经和你们当中 大多数聊过.我们组织这个班的初衷是给爱体育的孩子一个锻炼的机会.  经过短短的两次招生(见照片), 目前已经8个孩子报名了. 我打算带这些孩子这个星期六进行第一次练习. 

时间为: 11:30am - 12:20pm. 
地 点: Gym 3. (出入要通过男孩更衣室, 如Gym 2 有赛事, 我们要用Gym 3 对户外的门)

注意事项: 

请 给孩子带:
  1. 额外一双干净的运动鞋
  2. 短裤
  3. T-shirt
  4. 水
  5. 零 食
  6. 排球 (如果您家里有排球, 请自愿, 我是打算买一些排球, 我已有两个)

已经完成的事项:

  1. 建 立排球班邮件组. 四位家长已经接受了邀请, 请其他的家长也接受邀请. (请注意, 目前我将权限设置的比较松, 每个成员都能往组里发邮件. 如有不妥, 我可以限制发邮件的权限)  邮件组有两个访问方式: http://groups.google.com/a/kwcschool.com/group/volleyball 和 volleyball@kwcschool.com

以下是我计划要作的事项:
  1. 确认场地. 上学期我已打好招呼了. 需要再确认一遍.
  2. 建立排球班网站.
  3. 确认本学年能开多少次课, 公布上课日期
  4. 收 费. 我把这个费用看作教学双方的一种承诺. 将按每次$5收.
  5. 确认球网和球网架.
  6. 购买排球,
  7. 招 募副教练. 我已看好人选.
